Hendrick’s Orbium 700ml is a Scottish gin created by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie at the Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Girvan, Ayrshire. It starts with the same botanicals, cucumber and rose essences used in Hendrick’s Gin, then adds essences of quinine, wormwood and blue lotus blossom. Bitterness from the first two is balanced by the floral sweetness of the lotus.

Lesley Gracie prefers it with soda water, which brings out its woody, nutty wormwood. It also makes a balanced gin and tonic with a long, dry finish, and stands up well in a Martini or a Satan’s Whiskers. Try it with goat’s cheese or cured meats.

Lotus blossom leads the aroma, along with cucumber, rose water and juniper. The palate moves from sweet florals and melon to citrus, coriander and bitter rooty bark, closing with grassy cucumber, white pepper and piney juniper.
