How to Choose a Gin RTD
Choose tonic for a bittersweet edge or soda for a drier, fruit-led taste. Strength varies, for example Gordon's Gin & Tonic is 7%, so check the ABV and standard drinks on each label.
Gin RTD FAQs
What is the difference between a gin and tonic and a gin and soda RTD?
A gin and tonic RTD uses tonic water, which contains quinine and is usually sweetened, giving a bittersweet taste. A gin and soda RTD uses soda water, so it is drier and the gin and fruit flavours come through more clearly.
What is pink gin?
Pink gin is gin flavoured or coloured with red fruit such as strawberry or raspberry, giving a softer, fruitier taste than London dry gin. The juniper still comes through, just more gently.
What does yuzu taste like?
Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit with a tart, fragrant flavour that sits somewhere between grapefruit, lemon and mandarin. It adds a bright, aromatic edge to gin.
How should I serve a gin RTD?
Serve a gin RTD well chilled, over ice in a highball or balloon glass. Add a garnish to suit the flavour, such as lime, cucumber or a slice of grapefruit. It suits seafood and salads.
