Description
Planteray Pineapple Rum 700ml is the pineapple rum also known as Stiggins’ Fancy, created in 2015 by Alexandre Gabriel of Maison Ferrand and drinks historian David Wondrich. Maison Ferrand began moving its Plantation range to the Planteray name in January 2024, so some bottles still carry the Plantation label. The name nods to the Reverend Stiggins in Dickens’ The Pickwick Papers, a character fond of pineapple rum.
Two parts go into it. Queen Victoria pineapple rinds are infused in white rum and then distilled, while the fruit flesh is macerated in dark rum. The two are combined and rested in cask for a further period.
