About Bushmills
The Bushmills distillery traces its history to a licence to distil granted in the area in 1608. Its whiskeys are triple distilled for a light, smooth spirit. Bushmills Original is a blend of malt and grain whiskey, Black Bush contains a high share of malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks, and the 10 Year Old is a single malt.
How to Enjoy Bushmills
Bushmills Original works well with ginger ale and a wedge of lime, or in a hot Irish coffee. Sip Black Bush or the 10 Year Old neat or with a little water, alongside smoked salmon, soda bread or a cheese board.
Bushmills FAQs
Where is Bushmills whiskey made?
Bushmills is made at the Old Bushmills Distillery in the village of Bushmills, County Antrim, on the north coast of Northern Ireland, close to the Giant's Causeway, and the whiskey is still distilled there.
What is the difference between Bushmills Original and Black Bush?
Bushmills Original is a light blend of triple distilled malt and grain whiskey. Black Bush uses a much higher share of malt whiskey, much of it matured in Oloroso sherry casks, giving a richer, fruitier taste.
Is Bushmills 10 Year Old a single malt?
Yes. Bushmills 10 Year Old is a single malt Irish whiskey, made only from malted barley at the one distillery and triple distilled. It is matured for at least ten years, mainly in bourbon and sherry casks.
