About Hendrick's
Hendrick's was launched in 1999 and developed by master distiller Lesley Gracie. It is made from two different stills, a Bennett pot still and a Carter-Head still, and the two spirits are blended. Cucumber and rose are added after distillation because cucumber did not work in the still.
How to Enjoy Hendrick's
The house serve is a gin and tonic with thin slices of cucumber instead of lime. It also works in a martini, a gimlet or a Tom Collins. Pair it with cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon, sushi or light summer salads.
Hendrick's FAQs
Where is Hendrick's Gin made?
Hendrick's is made in Girvan, on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland, by William Grant & Sons. Its distillery is often called the Gin Palace and also holds the two older stills the gin was first made in.
Why is Hendrick's served with cucumber?
Cucumber and rose are added to the gin after distillation, so a slice of cucumber in the glass matches the flavour already in the bottle. It is the garnish the brand itself recommends instead of lime.
What is the difference between Hendrick's Neptunia and Amazonia?
Both are limited editions built on the original recipe. Neptunia draws on coastal botanicals for a fresher, citrus and sea-air style, while Amazonia draws on botanicals from a rainforest expedition for a more tropical character.
