About Real Tesoro

Bodegas Marqués del Real Tesoro was founded by the grandson of the first Marqués del Real Tesoro, who bought old soleras in 1897. The bodega is now part of Grupo Estévez, which also owns Valdespino. Its sherries are aged in the solera system, where younger wine is gradually blended with older wine in oak casks.

How to Enjoy Real Tesoro

Serve Fino well chilled with olives, almonds, jamón and seafood. Oloroso is best cool, with cured meats, mushrooms or hard cheese. Pour Pedro Ximénez over vanilla ice cream or serve it with blue cheese and dark chocolate.

Real Tesoro FAQs

What is the difference between Fino, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez?

Fino is dry and pale, aged under a layer of yeast called flor. Oloroso is aged without flor, so it is darker and nutty but still dry. Pedro Ximénez is made from dried grapes and is very sweet.

Where is Real Tesoro sherry made?

Real Tesoro is made in Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucía, southern Spain. Sherry can only come from the Jerez region, and is aged in bodegas in the sherry towns.

How should I serve Real Tesoro Fino?

Serve Fino well chilled in a white wine glass, with tapas such as olives, salted almonds, jamón or fried fish. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and drink within about a week.
