Jameson 18YO 700ml is an 18 year old blended Irish whiskey and one of the oldest age statements in the core Jameson range. It blends single pot still whiskey with grain whiskey, each aged for at least 18 years, with the pot still components coming from Midleton Distillery in County Cork.
Jameson traces its story to 1780, when John Jameson took over a distillery on Bow Street in Dublin. Production later moved to Midleton, where Jameson is still made today. Like the rest of the range, the whiskey is triple distilled, a long-standing Irish practice that gives Jameson its smooth, clean character.
The 18 year old is matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, then finished for at least six months in first-fill bourbon barrels. That final stage adds extra vanilla and sweet oak on top of the dried fruit and nuttiness from the sherry casks. First launched in 2002, it remains a top-tier bottling in the Jameson family.
