Auchentoshan 12 Year Old 700ml is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, triple distilled where most Scottish malts are distilled twice. It matures for 12 years in a double maturation using ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

The nose opens on sweet pastry and a burst of citrus, with the distillery’s nuttiness and green leaf behind it. On the palate come tangerine, lime, toffee and soft caramel, leading to a gingery, dry finish where a little nuttiness lingers.
A sensible choice for someone trying single malts for the first time, or for a Scotch drinker who prefers a lighter, non-peated style from the Lowlands.
