Description
Ca’ Del Bosco Cuvée Prestige Rosé 750ml is a Franciacorta Rosé from Ca’ del Bosco in Erbusco, Lombardy, northern Italy. Pinot Noir leads the blend and Chardonnay completes it, with the colour coming from a brief maceration of the Pinot Noir before the wine is put together. It is made by bottle fermentation in the classic method, and it is Franciacorta, not Champagne.

Chill it well and serve at about 10 degrees in a tulip glass, which gives the red fruit aromas more room than a flute. Good matches include grilled prawns, sashimi and tuna tartare, and the wine’s freshness also suits a simple plate of cured meats before dinner.
- Franciacorta Rosé from Lombardy, Italy
- Pinot Noir with Chardonnay
- Brief skin contact for colour
Recent editions show fresh strawberry and raspberry with a note of blood orange. The palate is juicy and mouth-filling with a very fine mousse, and the finish is long and fresh with an orange peel edge. The winery describes it as a delicate transition between shades of red and white that intertwine without becoming either one.
The story goes back to 1976, when Rosé Ca’ del Bosco appeared alongside Franciacorta Pinot as the winery’s first multi-vintage wine. In 2005 it became Cuvée Prestige Rosé, and with the 2018 harvest it joined the Edizione family, where each release carries its own edition number. Over that time the dosage has been steadily reduced to bring the fruit forward.
The work follows the same care as the rest of the range. Vineyards are certified organic, grapes are sorted, and each bunch is washed and dried individually before pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks rather than oak, which keeps the emphasis on fruit. The wine then matures on its lees in the bottle before disgorgement, a step Ca’ del Bosco carries out without oxygen using its own system.
The family’s story in Franciacorta dates to 1965, when Annamaria Clementi Zanella moved to Franciacorta with her son Maurizio, who went on to develop the winery.
A good bottle for rosé drinkers curious about Italian sparkling wine, and for anyone planning a seafood dinner.
