The solera dates back to 1862 and is linked to a visit by Queen Isabel II. Its name comes from one large butt known as El Cristo surrounded by twelve smaller butts, the apostles.
Serve it lightly cool in a white wine glass and give it time in the glass. It suits aged cheeses, roast game birds, mushroom dishes and a plate of walnuts.

Expect a deep amber colour and an intense nose of hazelnut, dried fruit, orange peel and polished wood. The palate is rich and layered, with nutty depth, gentle sweetness and spice, and a very long finish.
A special bottle for sherry lovers and a fine choice to open with a good cheeseboard.
