Hwayo 25 Premium Soju 500ml is a distilled Korean soju made by Hwayo in Yeoju, South Korea, from 100% Korean rice. The spirit is distilled at low temperature under vacuum and rested in onggi, traditional Korean earthenware jars, before being bottled at 25% ABV, the lightest of Hwayo’s core range.

Soju has been distilled in Korea since the 13th century, traditionally from rice. In 1965 the government banned the use of rice for making alcohol because of food shortages, and most producers switched to diluted soju made from other starches. The ban was lifted in 1999, and since then producers such as Hwayo have revived the older distilled rice style.
Serve it chilled and neat in small glasses, or over ice. It also mixes well with soda water and citrus, and pairs with Korean barbecue, grilled fish, sashimi or kimchi pancakes.
