Description
Louis Roederer Brut Nature 750ml is a zero dosage Champagne from Louis Roederer, the family-run house in Reims. No sweetening liqueur is added after disgorgement, so the wine shows the fruit and the site with nothing softening them. The grapes come from Cumières in the Vallée de la Marne, from a south-facing, concave hillside of heavy clay over chalk.

Serve it chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass rather than a narrow flute, which gives a dry wine like this room to open. Oysters and sashimi suit the bone-dry profile, and a piece of aged hard cheese stands up to its firm structure.
- Zero dosage Champagne, no sugar added at disgorgement
- Fruit from a Cumières hillside in the Vallée de la Marne
- Made by Louis Roederer in Reims, founded 1776
Expect ripe citrus and warm stone on the nose, with a dry, chalky palate and a long, savoury line. Acidity is firm and there is no sweetness to round the edges, so the finish reads as saline and limestone-led.
Roederer first made a Brut Nature with designer Philippe Starck, who worked with the house on the project. The blend draws on Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay from Cumières, picked and handled as a field blend in recent releases. Bottlings under this label change with each release, so character will shift a little from one to the next.
The house behind it dates to 1776, when it was founded as Dubois Père & Fils. Louis Roederer inherited the business in 1833, gave it his name and pushed into foreign markets. It remains independent and in the hands of the Rouzaud family, one of the few Champagne houses still family-run. The estate covers about 240 hectares, around 75 of them farmed biodynamically, and it supplies about two-thirds of the grapes the house needs.
Suited to Champagne drinkers who want to taste a dry, site-driven style with nothing added at the end.
