Talisker 10YO Malt 700ml is Talisker 10 Year Old, a single malt Scotch whisky from the Talisker Distillery at Carbost on the Isle of Skye. The distillery was founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill and sits on the shore of Loch Harport, and for many years it was the only working distillery on the island. Talisker 10 is the core expression of the range, made from peated malted barley, double distilled and matured for at least ten years in American oak casks before bottling at 45.8% ABV.

Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to open up the smoke and fruit. It also makes a bold highball with soda water, and is a classic match for fresh oysters, smoked fish, blue cheese or dark chocolate.

The distillery’s maritime setting is a large part of its identity. Talisker uses tall copper stills and traditional worm tub condensers, which help give the spirit its weight and peppery character, and the whisky is often described as tasting of the sea.
