Description
Teacher’s 1L is a blended Scotch whisky with a history that goes back to 1830, when William Teacher began selling whisky in Glasgow. The brand name was registered in 1884, and the family opened the Ardmore distillery in 1898 to secure its malt supply. Peated single malt from Ardmore remains the fingerprint of the blend, joined by about 30 other single malts, with a malt share of about 45%.

Teacher’s mixes well, because the malt and light smoke still come through with ginger ale or cola. Try it neat or with a splash of water too, and serve it alongside smoked salmon or a sharp cheddar.
- Blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV
- Built around peated single malt from Ardmore
- Malt content of about 45%
Expect honey, vanilla fudge and toffee apple on the nose, with a gentle wisp of peat smoke. Malty biscuit and ripe pear fill the palate, and the finish turns drier, with ash and pepper.
A sensible pick for everyday Scotch drinkers who like a blend with a clear note of smoke, whether neat or in a long mixed drink.
