Serve chilled at around 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. Green papaya salad and prawn rice paper rolls both suit its floral, citrus-led character.
- 100 percent Muscat Petits Grains, 2025
- Ancestral method, finished in bottle under a crown cap
- Auntsfield, Southern Valleys, Marlborough
Fresh apple, elderflower, nashi pear, mint and wild honey come first, with Muscat florals and spice emerging as it opens. The palate is light and lively, with crisp acidity and brioche and almond notes from the lees.
The wine honours David Herd, who founded Marlborough’s first commercial vineyard and winery at Auntsfield in the 1870s. It comes from the historic Muscat block, where vines are trained along old wire and manuka posts.
