Bogle Merlot 750ml

Bogle Merlot comes from Bogle Vineyards, a family winery in Clarksburg, California, where the Bogle family planted its first wine grapes in 1968. The family began making its own wine in 1979 and still runs the business, sourcing Merlot from Clarksburg and other California vineyards.

Bogle Merlot is best served at cool room temperature, around 16 to 18°C, in a standard red wine glass. It does not need decanting, though a few minutes in the glass helps the fruit open up. Enjoy it now or over the next few years.

Bogle Merlot tastes of ripe black cherry and plum, with vanilla and mocha notes from American oak. The palate is smooth and medium to full bodied, with soft tannins, moderate acidity and a gently spiced finish.

Bogle Merlot goes well with roast pork, beef lasagne, mushroom risotto and gourmet burgers. Its soft tannins and ripe fruit also suit mild hard cheeses such as aged gouda without overpowering lighter meat dishes. A splash of the wine in the gravy works well too.
