Glenmorangie Allta Private Edition 700ml is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky and the tenth release in Glenmorangie’s Private Edition series. It was made using a wild yeast found growing on the distillery’s own Cadboll barley, then matured mainly in second-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks so the yeast’s fruity character could come through.

Try it neat first, then add a splash of water, as it’s bottled at 51.2% ABV and opens up nicely. Serve it with a cheese board, buttery shortbread or a simple fruit tart.

The nose is bright and bready, with biscuity, yeasty tones, orchard fruit and vanilla. On the palate come butter candy, creamy vanilla and orange syrup, finishing gently spiced and warm.
