Taylor’s LBV Port 2019 is a Late Bottled Vintage port from Taylor’s, the Douro port house that pioneered the LBV style as a ready-to-drink alternative to Vintage Port. It comes from the 2019 harvest, drawn from a reserve of full-bodied red ports made from Taylor’s own vineyards and other top properties in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, and spent four to six years in wood before bottling.

Serve it at 16 to 18 degrees in a port or small wine glass; it is ready to drink and does not need decanting. Taylor’s suggests strong blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort, and desserts made with chocolate or berry fruit.

The 2019 is deep ruby with purple highlights. Blackcurrant and blackberry lead the nose, with raspberry, cherry, wild herbs, liquorice and coffee, and firm, well-integrated tannins carry into a long finish of woodland berries.
