Description
Giesen 0% Riesling 750ml is an alcohol removed Riesling from Giesen Wines, made from fruit grown in Marlborough and Waipara. Giesen has made Riesling since its 1984 vintage and describes this as the first 0% New Zealand Riesling. A full-strength wine is fermented first, spinning cone technology then removes the aroma and alcohol, and the captured aromatics return to the wine. Giesen states not more than 0.5% alcohol by volume, despite the 0% in the name.

Serve it well chilled in a slim white wine glass. A fresh fruit salad or citrus ceviche with avocado are the brand’s matches, and both pick up on the wine’s lime.
- Marlborough and Waipara fruit
- Gentle sweetness balanced by crisp acidity
- Stated at not more than 0.5% alcohol by volume
Lime, citrus blossom and mandarin give this a bright, lively aroma. On the palate there is zingy lime and ripe mandarin, and the gentle sweetness is held in check by crisp acidity.
One for Riesling fans who enjoy a touch of sweetness and want the alcohol removed from their glass.
