Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz comes from the Filsell Vineyard at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley, planted in the 1920s. These old vines also contribute to Grant Burge's flagship Meshach, which is why Filsell is often called its younger sibling.

Serve Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz at cool room temperature, around 16 to 18°C, in a large glass. Decanting for about an hour softens it and opens the fruit. It drinks well now and can also be cellared for several years.

Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz typically tastes of blackberry, black plum and blueberry, with dark chocolate, mocha, vanilla and liquorice. It is full-bodied and ripe, with plush tannins and a long, savoury finish. The oak is well handled and sits behind the fruit.

Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz goes well with rich red meat dishes such as chargrilled ribeye, braised beef cheeks and slow-cooked lamb. It also suits hard, aged cheeses like vintage cheddar. Decanting first helps it show at its best with food.
