Reid + Reid Rev Dawson’s Gin 700ml is a classic London dry style gin from Reid + Reid, a craft distillery in Martinborough founded in 2015 by brothers Stew and Chris Reid. It is made using the one shot method in the brothers’ 200 litre copper pot still, with juniper and citrus at the centre, and is bottled at 42% ABV.

The gin is named, a little tongue in cheek, after the brothers’ great-great-grandfather, Reverend John Dawson, who campaigned for prohibition as General Secretary of the New Zealand Alliance from 1909 to 1925. Serve it with tonic, ice and a lemon twist, or stir it into a dry Martini or Negroni, alongside oysters or a seafood platter.
